Acoustic Walls Renée Bar Basel
In the summer of 2016 Luc and Oli Dolder developed, designed and build two wooden acoustic walls for the fumoir room of Renée Bar in Basel. The room is usually full of people and the acoustic in there had been so bad, that it was hard to actually understand what the person next to you was saying. Now it sounds really great.
Various Recording Studio Designs
Over the years Luc has designed, built and managed several recording studios in San Francisco and Berlin.
Light Design Dodo Beach East Record Store (ex-Vopo Records)
In the spring of 2018 Vopo Records was bought by the Dodo Beach Records people and underwent major renovation. Luc was doing the retail light design using standard stage lighting elements, pipe and small polished par cans.
Bar-Shack Design & Construction for FIFA World Cup
For the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, Luc and Pete Johannsen designed and built a small lockable shack to be used as a bar for tab beer and long-drinks in the Quasimodo beer-garden, next to a ca. 5 meter big LED screen. Luc designed the пиво sign and Silky made the painted signs and decorations (in the picture still unfinished).
MuF Musik und Frieden Club Design
Berlin's Musik und Frieden Club aka MuF's one event hall used for private events as well as MuF parties needed a makeover and designer Luc and a construction team around Pete Johannsen threw out old bar and DJ desk, lights and painted the whole thing in an elegant and versatile dark grey and coated some walls with a thin layer of very subtle translucent gold. The dark grey works well in that each event or party can colour their room with light fixtures to any colour according to taste or theme, which naturally is a good thing in a multi-functional room like this one. We also recycled some of the wood that we had pulled out and converted it to practical wall sideboards.
Huxley's Club Merch Stall / Dodo Beach Record Store
Promoter Tom Spindler had the idea to put a small version of his Dodo Beach record store right into the big hall of Huxley's Neue Welt Venue in Berlin to sell merchandise after the concerts. Since this room is a historic monument and as a public event space has to withstand strict fire safety regulations, Pete Johannsen and Luc used only special wood and materials to build this little store-in-a-club.
The painting and decoration was done by painter and musician Silky.
Wooden Terrace / Deck outside of Berlin
In collaboration with Pete Johannsen Holzbau, furniture maker Guido Langer and several other talented and experienced colleges, Luc has participated in various construction, architectural and restoration & preservation projects in and around Berlin, building and restoring roofs, decks, stairs & floors.
Wearable Clitoris Sculpture for Clit-Awareness / Porn-Art Performance
This bright orange wearable clitoris sculpture was a project Luc designed and built in 2013 with Melanie Garland for Italian porn-performance-artist Vulvah van Klitt (www.clitorissima.com)
